ABOUT THE AUTHOR OF THIS WEBSITE
My name is Abdullah Wali-Uddin. I am a U.S. Navy veteran and received an honorable discharge in April 1993. I attended Florida Community College in Jacksonville, Florida where I received an Associates of Arts degree with a concentration in Education. I later attended the University of North Florida where I was enrolled in the Science Education 6-12 program. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I could not complete my education degree at UNF, so I applied for a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts at Regents College in Albany, New York. It is now called Excelsior College. During my years at UNF, I worked as a Program Assistant for Gateway Community Services where I supervised Level 6 juvenile offenders in a residential treatment facility. After I graduated from Excelsior, I worked as a Behaviorist at Daniel Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. From there I went to teach in the Duval County public school system as a middle school science teacher. After that, I taught at the Universal Academy of Florida Islamic school in Tampa Florida. I later taught middle school science at a public school in Salisbury, North Carolina.
After I left public school teaching, I took a position overseas in Saudi Arabia where I taught science in a private school for two years. Then I started teaching English as a second language and have been working here in Saudi Arabia ever since. During my time here, I spent it learning Arabic and studying wherever I could get the opportunity. Around 2012 I returned to the American Open University of Islamic Studies and completed my Master's Degree in Islamic Studies. I later attended Umm Al Quraa center in Makkah, Saudi Arabia where I completed a 2-year diploma in Shariah by the Arabic Language. As I continued seeking knowledge, I came upon a unique opportunity to study at the Academy of the Prophet's Masjid (Peace be upon him) in Madinah, Saudi Arabia where I completed a graduate certificate in Muslim Chaplaincy. That brings me up to the present where I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Islamic Studies at the University of South Africa where I am studying Shariah Compliant Products in the United States.
I follow the Salafi Methodology in the application of Islam in Aqeedah (beliefs), actions, and understanding. This means that I refer all matters back to the Book of Allah, the Quran and the Sunnah (practice, way, approvals) of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and our righteous predecessors who followed that way. I declare my self to be a Muslim, free from all group affiliations or Hizbiyuun who oppose that way and follow the way of distortion of the meanings of the Quran and promoting innovations in religion, and bigoted blind following of madhhabs and scholars. Bigoted in the sense, your madhhabs/scholar is correct and all others are misguided. Whoever follows a madhhab is correct, but declare that madhhab /scholar superior to all others is not correct.
I declare that if a person kills another person unlawfully, he is a criminal regardless of his religious affiliations and should be punished according to Islamic law. Terrorism is not defined by religion, but by actions.
Islam is the Truth, it calls for worshiping the Creator, Allah, alone without any partners, enjoining the good and forbidding all forms of evil. And to declare Muhammad, the last Prophet who was sent to all of mankind is Allah's slave and messenger (peace be upon him).
It is hoped that any individual who reads this will set aside personal desires, think, and reflect upon themselves. If you differ in anything that I have said, refer it back to Allah and His messenger (peace be upon him) and advise me upon that. This is the way of Islam and the way of the Salaf.
